The Millennium Nucleus for the Evaluation and Analysis of Drug Policies (nDP) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher interested in the core research area of the Center: drug policy analysis and evaluation.
nDP is a recently launched research Nucleus funded by the Millennium Science Initiative of the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID). Our goal is to generate evidence on the formulation, decision-making, and implementation of drug policies and their impact on social, economic and population health. We expect to contribute to the drug policy debate in Chile and Latin America. To do this, we conduct comprehensive multimethod analyses and empirical evaluations of drug policies and policy initiatives.
The nDP research areas are as follows:
• Review and classification of national and international evidence of drug policy.
• Impact evaluation of drug policy.
• Research on the policy process of drug policies.
The postdoctoral fellows will join a multidisciplinary team of PIs with a long-term career studying substance use and drug policy from multiple disciplines and using different methodological approaches. Our team has a strong background in public health, epidemiology, social sciences, economics, laws, research methods, among other disciplines and research areas. The four hosting institutions of nDP are Universidad Mayor, Universidad de la Frontera, Universidad de Valparaíso, and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
Qualifications: We seek candidates with experience and expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis applied to epidemiology, public health and/or social sciences. Preference will be given to profiles with interdisciplinary backgrounds. Applicants must have been awarded a PhD in a related field and have a strong publications record. All candidates must have demonstrable skills in academic writing and communication in English.
Expected results: Postdoctoral fellows are expected to publish at least two scientific articles for each year the position is held and to support and collaborate with nDP members in research activities and funding applications. We also expect postdoctoral researchers to contribute to training and mentoring, dissemination, and outreach as part of the nDP commitments.
Appointment: The initial appointment will be on a fixed term with subsequent reappointment based upon satisfactory performance and availability of resources. Screening of applications will begin immediately and remain open until the position is filled. The salary for this position is equivalent to other ANID instruments, such as FONDECYT postdoctoral.
