From September 9 to 11, 2025, Natalia Miranda, researcher at CISS, was part of the organizing committee and facilitated activities at the RC48 Summer School Retreat, an international event organized by the International Sociological Association (ISA) and its Research Committee on Social Movements, Collective Action, and Social Change. Under the theme “Social Movements and Sociologies of the Future”, the retreat took place in Montebello, Quebec, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on transformative methodologies, movements, and alternative futures in the face of global crises.

Over three days, Natalia engaged with renowned scholars and activists such as Lesley Wood (York University) and Chris Dixon (Carleton University & Punch Up Collective), and collaborated with Eloy Rivas-Sánchez, Camila Ponce Lara, and Camilo Tamayo Gómez in facilitating workshops, conversations, and collective research sessions.

Natalia’s participation in this Summer School strengthened international networks, promoted the exchange of theoretical and methodological perspectives, and reaffirmed a commitment to a critical sociology engaged with contemporary challenges.
