Biography
Teresita Rocha Jiménez has a PhD in Public Health, concentration on global health, from the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University, a master of Latin-American Studies from the University of California, San Diego and a bachelor´s degree in International Relations from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). For her master and doctoral studies, Dr. Rocha was awarded full-tuition scholarships from the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, CONACYT y UC-Mexus. Since 2011, Dr. Rocha has focused on studying how the migration experiences and mobility influence sexual health of sexual workers and the mental health of immigrants in transit at both the north and south borders of Mexico. Dr. Rocha has experience with qualitative and mixed methods research, along with geospatial methods.
