La Dra. Natalia Miranda will serve as co-investigator in the Fondecyt Regular 2025–2028 project titled “Together we can? Institutionalization of contentious collective action in contemporary Chilean society.”
The project is led by Dr. Gonzalo Delamaza (CEDER – Universidad de Los Lagos), and also includes Dr. Carolina Acevedo (Universidad Católica de Temuco) as co-investigator. It focuses on analyzing how social movements in Chile, between 2011 and 2024, have (or have not) managed to institutionalize their demands in a context marked by social fragmentation, political contestation, and institutional transformation.
Using a mixed-methods approach and case studies of territorial mobilizations across various regions of the country, the research aims to understand the formal and informal links between collective action and political institutions at different levels.
At CISS, Dr. Miranda will contribute her extensive experience in the study of collective action, social movements, and political coalitions, reinforcing the Center’s commitment to addressing the challenges of contemporary democracy.
