From January 8th to 10th, San Joaquín Campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile hosted the II Chilean Social Networks Conference (CHISOCNET 2025). Researchers from the Center for Society and Health (CISS), including Diego Palacios, Nicolás Montalva, and Francisca Vásquez, actively participated in various roles, from organizing to presenting impactful research.
Social network analysis, the central theme of CHISOCNET, focuses on understanding how social connections and structures shape individual and collective dynamics, demonstrating their relevance in areas such as economics, education, and human behavior.
Diego Palacios, CISS researcher, stood out as a member of the organizing committee, moderating the presentation by national guest speaker Jorge Fábrega and leading the Education panel. He also presented two papers and coauthored four other studies, covering topics like economic support networks, prosocial behavior in adolescents, and philanthropy in the Chilean education system.
Meanwhile, Nicolás Montalva, CISS director, moderated and participated together with Francisca Vásquez, in the panel on Personal Networks, Community, and Kinship, delving into the importance of social connections within the Chilean context.
We thank all the participants of this event at the II Social Networks Conference.
